I visited Rome, Florence and the Cinq Terre National Park in Northern Italy. I really liked the little villages of Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, Riomaggiore. I also traveled a few times to Cuba, in Havana, Trinidad and Cienfuegos... That country is a museum for the american automobile industry! When I'm home I like to take pictures in my region of the Laurentians: St-Sauveur, Val-David, Mont Tremblant.

Welcome to Luc Archambault’s web site. I got into photography in 2005, just for fun and I like taking pictures of just about everything. Landscapes and nature are probably what I shoot the most. I like to travel when I can to discover new things sometimes in my area and sometimes in other countries. Photography is a lot of fun when you are discovering new places. In the last few years I’ve been to Italy, the Caribbean’s and the US, and if I could go anywhere today it would probably be Australia or China. Photography has no time or place, you never know what you might see today so I try to have my camera with me most of the time (I use a Nikon D80). For the past ten years I’ve been working as a programmer/analyst specializing in internet/intranet technologies and in 2006 I moved out of the city and went back to the Laurentians, in St-Sauveur, Quebec. Computers, the internet and photography make a great combination and it’s by the use of sites such as flickr.com that I came in contact with many amazing photographers, which furthered my interest for photography and enabled me to get better. The advent of photography going digital has made photography a lot more accessible and there are a lot more good photographers today than there were just ten years ago. Being a programmer I’m obviously interested in post processing techniques and I like to experiment a lot with that. Since my beginnings, I’ve had a special interest for HDR photography. The old cliché says that photography immortalizes memories, a specific place and time. Taking a picture of something very grand and spectacular is always fun but taking a good shot of something more discreet, less obvious, can be just as satisfying and even more sometimes. I think there’s something therapeutic about photography; it makes you take a closer look and you become more aware of the world around you. I made this website during the summer of 2008 so I could more easily share my passion for photography. I’m just starting off but it’s sure go get better over time so come back every once in a while for another look.
